The Product Development Operation of Nexon North America (NPNA) is called Humanature Studios

Humanature was created to entertain, enlighten, enthuse and get you as psyched about online games as we are. ?The future of gaming is changing and we¡¯re leading the way.

What sets Humanature apart from other studios?? It¡¯s people with great ideas and a culture that supports fresh thinking.? Everyone here has a pivotal role to play in the development of our games and everyone believes that what we do here is going to lead the industry to the next level of game play.

The Humanature team is lead by an exec team with a proven track record of innovation.

Alex Garden-CEO
Alex started as a videogame tester in 1989 and over the next 8 years he quickly rose through the ranks before starting his own studio (Relic) in 1997 at the tender age of 22. Relic was acquired by THQ in 2005. Seeing an opportunity to bring the North American market into the exciting world of on-line gaming, Alex left Relic in 2006 to establish Nexon Publishing North America.

Steve Rechtschaffner-CCO
After a successful career in varied non-gaming fields (marketing guru at Swatch and inventor of the Olympic event Boardercross to name a couple) Steve developed many successful franchises for EA here in Vancouver. Among those are the SSX series, Triple Play Baseball series and the Street line. Steve ultimately filled the role of CCO for EA¡¯s worldwide studio before leaving in 2006 to join Alex and the growing team of industry experts here at Nexon.

Established in 2006, Humanature Studios was created to make games and online experiences specifically for the North American audience. We believe the best games aren¡¯t simply based on trends or business opportunities, but rather experiences that create deep cultural and instinctual connections-in short games that appeal to basic human nature. This theory is so integral to our process that we¡¯ve named our studio Humanature.

Our parent company Nexon has dominated the highly-competitive Asian gaming market for years, pioneering gaming innovations like the MMORPG category, micro-transactions and free online gaming along the way. With direct presence in Korea, China, Japan, US, UK and now our Yaletown Vancouver development studio, Humanature, Nexon¡¯s global influence is expanding daily.

The face of gaming in North America is changing. As the console struggles to remain relevant during the shift toward online, community-based experiences we believe the time is ripe to do something new and make our mark. We have the rare combination of years of knowledge, support and success from Nexon, and the luxury of being able to hand-pick a team up to the challenge of defining the next step in gaming and social interaction. So if you believe that online gaming is the future in North America than join the studio that is shaping the path.
